Respawn is a once-a-week social gaming club built around real-life connection, retro gaming, casual competition and community. We bring the consoles and setup. You bring yourself, your friends, and maybe a little bit of trash talk.

What is Respawn?

Respawn is an in-person and online social gaming club by Intermingle Australia. The in-person side happens in Melbourne, while Discord keeps the community engaged online between events.

We focus on relaxed, social gaming with a retro and community feel. We bring the consoles, screens and setup, and build the experience around what is actually available on the day.

Monthly structure
  • Weeks 1–3: Gamers Citadel — the regular social gaming format.
  • Last Sunday of the month: Respawn Demo Tournament — the competitive week, with featured game formats and polls.
How it works
  • Come down, grab food or a drink, and join the social setup.
  • Members are given a badge upon purchase of food or drink or both.
  • Patrons may bring consoles, but they must DM us beforehand and arrive early for setup.
  • Discord supports ongoing online engagement between physical meetups.

About the setup
  • We bring the consoles and create the social gaming setup on site.
  • The current focus is retro-friendly, social and easy-to-jump-into gaming.
  • Setups may vary slightly depending on hardware, event format and venue conditions.
  • Extra consoles may be permitted from patrons, but only with prior approval via DM and early arrival for setup.

Respawn is about building a recurring social gaming community around the gear we actually use and the atmosphere we create.

Weekly social format

Week 1

Gamers Citadel

Casual social gaming, hanging out, food and drinks, with access to the featured setups for the day.

Week 2–3

Gamers Citadel

The regular community format continues, keeping the club active every Sunday.

Week 4

Respawn Demo Tournament

The last Sunday of the month shifts toward a featured demo tournament, supported by community tournament polls.

Respawn runs as a weekly social club on Sundays. Weeks 1–3 are Gamers Citadel, and the last Sunday of the month is the Respawn Demo Tournament.

Yes. Respawn is social first. You do not need to be highly competitive to come along. Casual players, newcomers and people just wanting a fun atmosphere are all welcome.
